ICHRA vs. group health: compare the operating model: common questions
Does an ICHRA offer affect premium tax-credit eligibility?
It can. Affordability and other eligibility rules determine how an ICHRA offer interacts with Marketplace tax credits. Obtain guidance for the actual offer and household.
Is an ICHRA just extra pay for buying insurance?
No. It is a formal reimbursement arrangement with coverage, notice, substantiation and administration requirements. A cash allowance is not automatically equivalent.
